engine upgrade

Does any one have an idea about re powering my 40ft C C crusader with a Perkins 4-154 with a velvet drive 1.52:1 from a westerbeke 30 and a hurth trans, has any one done this is there any issues with clearance issues from the transmission and coupling to the drive shaft ,i am wanting to do this because i have a rebuilt Perkins in excellent shape, and the westerbeke is locked up and worn out

Best to take your own measurements and make your decision. You will will be making significant modifications to your engine compartment, but that's the case in all repowers when you are going with two different engine makes.

Heighth, width, depth measurments all need to be considered as well as the relationship of the propshaft with all of those measurements.

Go measure the two and see what sort of carpentry and glass work it will take make it fit.
