engine stop cable corroded

Hi,

I've recently bought a boat with a Yanmar 3JH2E inboard engine. I'm working my way through a list of jobs and today looked at the one around the stop cable. currently the engine has a button stop next to the key and next to the galley there is a cable stop and here lies the problem. this has corroded and has come away from the engine/housing. having looked at the engine manual I can see that there is a lever on the governor but 1) I cant see where a cable would attach to it and 2) I'd never get my hands in there to do the job.
so I'm wondering if someone could point me to where the cable attaches to the engine?

many thanks

It really sucks that you can't see your fuel pump. Rest assured the shut-off cable does/did go to the fuel pump. If you can't see it there is no way you are going to be able to replace it.

Re: engine stop cable corroded

when mine broke, the yanmar dealer made it to idle way down to stop engine--was my ericson. that worked better than a fail able pull stop
