Engine Mounts For Perkins

Will be dropping in a 4.108 this spring any recommendations for engine mounts?

I installed 4 new engine mounts on my 4-108 in July 2007. Cost of the 4 mounts was $191.

Sorry, I don't know the brand name.

They pretty well match the originals...no alterations necessary.

Thanks, pretty much looks like the ones that came out of our boat, over thirty years old. I am wondering if any of the engine "experts" could recommend something by brand name and their reasoning behind that recommendation.

I used Vetus mounts for the Perkins in my last boat.

El Perkins que usted está buscando está fuera de producción. Usted podría buscar para una unidad usada o reconstruir el tuyo. Ese motor también fue vendido como Volvo 2030.

Never Monday, I agree.
They look like my Volvo 2020 as well.

I am looking for a Westerbeke40 /Perkins 107 to repower my boat or at least that was what was in there when I bought it.
Anyone know where to look for a used 107 core I could rebuild?
I take it, some spare parts off the old one are good. Is there a diff in the 108?
I always used Yanmars and hear Kabotas are great too. People say the 107 is pretty good though.
Anyone want to advise on finding a good diesel engine 35 to 40 ponies?

Why would you want to start with a core of an engine that's 20+ years old. Parts are drying up for these. I'm in the middle of rebuilding a 4-108 and needed a crank. Found one turned down with bearings for 1400.00. By the time I'm done I'll have more in this engine than a suitable new replacement.

4.108 Engine Mounts

I used a company in Brisbane (Qld) - Australia called Polyflex for my engine mounts.

They manufacture a range of polymer based mounts and couplings that electrically isolate the engine from the rest of the boat as well.

Thanks for that angle of thought.

I am feeling out the area of operation on this engine thing and haven't yet committed money.
I think your argument is sound.
Thanks.
Is the 408 a bored 107?
I have enough budgeted for a good used motor but a new one would break me. I need a whole bunch of equally serious gear before I am finished.
Thanks for the answer.
Will
