Electric Fuel Pump and Filter - Gasoline Boat Engine

Can we put a primary filter before the pump and then put a secondary filter after the pump? I understand the 12 inch and 48 inch rule, regarding pump distance to engine and length of pressure hose to carb.

How about setting up like this

tank, antisiphon valve, selection valves for either tank, primary water sep filter, pump, secondary water sep filter, regulator, carb.

Doing this will put the regulator after the secondary water sep filter.
The pump-filter-regulator can be joined together by piping in a single in line arrangement. The filter is rated to 100 PSI so pressure issue is moot, IMO.
