Dual Robertson Pumps?

We have a backup Type3 Robertson pilot pump with larger cylinder in our J42. It is oversized and does not steer as well as the Type2 system. The Type 3 cylinder space on the quadrant is needed for the new Cape Horn vane tackles.

Any reason not to replumb for twin Type 2 pumps teed to the Type 2 cylinder? Only one pump at a time can be plugged into the Evolution controller. The single NO solenoid bypass also teed in. Brushes are the most common offshore breakdown, and a spare parallel pump would be great to have ready to go.
