Draining my Perkins .

The manual for my Perkins Prima M50 states that the engine's oil capacity is 6lts .
It is fitted with a sump pump and when removing the oil it barely makes 4lts .

How do l pump the balance ( 1/3 ) out of the sump ?

Re: Draining my Perkins .

Get a pan that fits under the engine, for now.
I plumb my sumps with a valve and a short flexible hose. A pump can be attached to the hose. It gets the last drop.
Now, because I have several engines, I have a plumbed in drain system and a waste oil tank.

It's possible to get a pump with a pipe thin enough to go down the dipstick pipe. This should get all of the oil out.
