Does anyone know what this might be?

I found it in the cockpit. I have no idea where it came from.

Its engraved EDSON and you can't tell/don't realize that it's the cap nut for the hub on your steering wheel?

I never read it that way.

To be honest, I had just buttoned up the boat and was scrambling to get back to my car because a storm was about to unload on me. I snapped this pic in a hurry.

This was the original photo I snapped and I couldn't read all the letters until I lighted it up in Photoshop. I never really looked at the photo before I uploaded it.

That's what I thought too. I had already covered my steering wheel so that's why it didn't occur to me that it might be off the wheel.
