The chin is that way. I call her snort even though that isn't her name.

For me, I have a love for all animals. Sometimes the uglier the more appealing.... Some are just buggers and need a good correction.

I have an affinity for cats. Some of my favourites are real bruisers, and some are softer than they should be......

As far as I am aware, cats and dogs do not produce diesel soot.

Re: Diesel Fuel Causing Soot?

Hi all Had this problem on a slightly smaller Yanmar symptoms were excessive smoke under load and dry soot on water and when revved and smoke from exhaust. Remove exhaust riser(mixer) and you will more than likely find the mixer is blocked partially. The one that I did was blocked about 75% and was in poor condition. Yanmar do have an issue with these. Replace it with a new one and hopefully your problems are solved.

No Soot or smoke!

Carl

Re: Diesel Fuel Causing Soot?

Quick follow up regarding soot.

Following a 1/2 tank fill up with 500 liters of diesel at the same place we filled up at the conclusion of the 2014 season, the problem went away. No more soot build up under the exhaust ports. We've traveled over five hundred miles since the fill up, no more soot.
