Cylinder Head

I'm trying to remove cylinder head (perkins 4.107) have tried a lot eg.hamering with wooden blocks,turning over on compression,have removed all 18 nuts & studs any advice very welcome.Thanks. Ronnie.

Shut the fuel off, and crank it over for a moment. If the compression doesn't pop it off, there's still something holding it together. (Manifolds? Plumbing?)

My guess is carbon has been forced into and up the bottom of one or more studs due to a bad gasket, forceing wd40 down alond side the studs may help.It would probably be quicker to remove the studs.

Understand from your post that you have already removed all the studs.
So, suggest add penetrating oil into stud holes, leave for 24 hours. Then if available with an old wide chisel (around 1" +) work a gap all the way around the head until it comes free.

Dumb question of the day.

You did pull the rocker arm, rail right?
You also removed the oil feed pipe to the rocker rail?

And you have a shop manual?

You shouldn't have to hammer the head to get it off unless this thing was sitting in a backyard for 10 years.

Would not use a chisel on the head. This is a machined surface. Take a small hydraulic jack and push up on the intake or exhaust manifold. If this doesn't do the trick then something mechanical is still holding it.
