Just curious, does this boat have a separate propeller shaft strut, with a cutlass bearing in it?

On boats with cutlass bearings in separate struts, do most also have another bearing in the stern tube, as it sounds like this is what you are talking about here?

My boat has a strut / cutlass bearing, and the stern tube has no bearing - just the stuffing box, to keep the water out. The engine alignment keeps the shaft centered in the stern tube.

Its just got the one tube, no strut. The tube starts about 2' aft of the motor and emerges from a sort of skeg a further 3' back. The cutless fits into the end of this, so there's only one bearing point. The other end of the tube accepts the rubber hose that connects the shaft log - Tides in this case.
