Choosing engine mounts

Hello all,
I have recently taken the engine out, Universal M-40, 32 hp, 275 Kg, from my 39 footer, for an overhaul. Before placing it back I got some work to do. firstly, and the only issue I will bring up on this thread, are the mounts. After some research I have found several products that might do the job with pricing from 32-150 dollars a piece!
My question is this: I want to cut down on costs (we all do with everything it appears) but invest in good mounts for the job, does anyone with a similar engine to mine gone through this and found definite conclusions? are their any substitutes to the, well known and highly valued, original yanmar mounts for less a buck?
Thanks

Re: casting engine mounts

Has anyone recast the flexible portion of engine mounts with urethane casting compounds? McMaster offers it in durometers from 20A to 85D. I have heard good results for casting suspension mounts for automobiles and cannot see why this would not work for engine mounts, as I am sure they are cast originally.

Re: Choosing engine mounts

Interesting you say that, my father in law was just saying something of that sorts. I will look in to it.
Cheers

Re: Choosing engine mounts

Check Polyflex. Just replaced all 8 Yanmar mounts. Made in Aust but you get them for 1/2 cost I had to pay when purchased in the USA!!
