Changing a CAV-Type Filter without Spilling a Drop

I have been having fuel problems, so have been polishing fuel through my CAV filter.

The filter is in a bastard of a spot to change, and cant get a tray, bucket or container under it.

So, I cut a car inner tybe in half. Pushed the car tyre over the CAV and folded it in half so both open ends were equally high.

THen I undid the bolt that holds the CAV together, and it neatly came apart without spilling a drop. THe cav filter sat at the bottom of the tube, no mess no fuss.

THen, to add to the success, the way the tube sagged made the perfect pouring device to get the diesel into a bottle...

Hope this idea helps anyone else...
