I have a 1983 Catalina Capri
30 that used to have an inboard engine
, but the previous owner took it away and installed a 10hp outboard
on the transom. The bracket is weak, made for a 5hp max., so I'm going to install a new bigger bracket. The problem is that the existing bracket is attached on the transom's centerline, and I think that is wrong because the prop is getting all the turbulence from the keel
and the spade rudder
. I haven't feel any heavy cavitation from the prop, but All the capris 30 that came originally with an outboard
has it on the starboard side of the transom. so what should I do??? Install the new one on the same place, or move it to one side on the transom???
All comments will be heavily appreciated!!!!!
Cheers from Costa Rica! Max
