Bukh temp

I have a problem with the temperature gauge on my bukh 48. The gauge is almost in the red in the fesh water reading, bukh have a 2 in 1 gauge fresh water temp top and salt water below, the engine temp in the heat exchanger is 74c or 165f never goes above or below even under full throttle. My Question is it temp gauge or temp sender, if temp gauge can the temp gauge be ajusted to read corretly?

If it reads 165...it isn't overheating.

Does the needle move to zero when off?

Have you tried "tapping" the gauge?

Yes needle goes to zero. When motor is started needle slowly goes up as engine heats up but instead of stopping at "normal" temp it keeps going until it is almost in the red. Engine temp was measured with a thermometer not gauge
