Bukh 24me Fresh-Water-Cooling Diagram Needed

so here i am on the pick on my maiden voyage/shakedown trip with my new yacht. the engine overheats within an hour.

what i really need is a plumbing diagram for a fwc bukh 24me with heat exchanger.

the fresh water header tank only has 1 outlet, it strikes me that it should have two. water goes from there to a manifold inlet T which continues on to a fresh water pump, from there to the heat exchanger inlet, with a T before hand that has a valve & pipe going nowhere, ie floating loose. from the heat exchanger outlet to a manifold inlet and from there back to the first mentioned manifold inlet.

i'm thinking i might be able to put both loose hoses into a jerry can of fresh water to get me to a port & diesel mechanic.

the builder of my new yacht had a heart attack the day i turned up to take delivery, havent seen him since. his wife said take it & go....

Hi Bruce in Oz,

Since you don't have any responses as of this moment, I'll jump in.

On my planet we don't speak "fwc bukh 24me", but it sounds like you're "fresh water header tank" is a description of the coolant reservoir on my Perkins.

Cheers
