Best Deals and Choice on Inboard Diesels in North America ?

Second boat second Volvo engine.

This one is aMD17c. Now on 3rd gearbox. Sick of the thing, after reading posts on the same model. What options do people have. The hours are low but!

I will in BC canada.

Cheers

I read somewhere that Yanmar produces around 70% of all engines for pleasure craft. That is pretty good reason to consider one.

sorry Gord,
Kubota does not produce a marine engine for the American market. Kubota does sell industrial engines to several companies that marinize them. These are Universal, Nanni, Beta, Phasor.

Re: Best Deals and Choice on Inboard Diesels in North America ?

Hello, One make of engine usually overlooked is the Isuzu line. They are found in thousands of Hitachi excavators, gensets, refer units etc. We had a 47 hp genset on the last commercial boat I worked on with over 20,000 hrs on it. I just bought the 85 hp model from Klassen diesel in Vancouver for my new boat. Much cheaper and more robust I believe than the Yanmar.
cheers, greg

OMG you have to spent another $20 on sunglasses to work on this. You won't need any light in the engine room. lol

It's a touch, uh, vivid, I will admit.

But I didn't buy it for its good looks!
