Re: Beat To Death Thread 4.108 Bleeding or?

Geepers creepers. This saga is not quite over. So after replacing all of the fuel lines, hi and low pressure, Rebuilding the starter with new armature, brushes and kit, replacing the fuel injection pump, rebuilding the water pump">raw water pump, cooler zinc.replacing bad control cable, Replacing battery cables to starter, cutting new gaskets for everything taken off, adjusting valve lash, I do the (final heh) assembly touching up paint and replacing rubber hoses along the way, top off the fluids, go to check the oil before firing, and the dipstick tube breaks off at the block. AAAARGH!!!!! Out comes the starter, header tank, exhaust manifold (losing fresh coolant). Smack dab in the middle of prime season. This side of the engine has now had everything refreshed What next? Maybe I shouldnt ask that. It looks like fabricating a dipstick tube wont be too bad with copper tubing soldered through a compression fitting. Off to hardware store.

How about a length of steel fuel or brake tubing from the auto parts store instead of soft copper? I think the end of the dipstick is going to wear out the copper pretty quick.
