Balmar and Yanmar belt pulley size

my belts, even a COT factory belt is slipping and dusting at 2000 RPM when the alternator is heavily charging, like at 60 to 100 A.
I had the same situation on my old Perkins and solved it by getting double pulleys made for two belts.
My Yanmar dealer said that was not necessary but the problem persists.
I tighten the belt and it still slips. I had the alignment checked twice it is OK.
Any advice on getting bigger pulleys like 1" wide or double pulleys?
This is the 64 turbo charged Yanmar 4jh4te and Balmar 100 A alternator.
Thanks for any help

Re: Balmar and Yanmar belt pulley size

hi,

there is a sepentine pulley kit available from a couple of entities...google " yanmar sepentine alternator" and you should be able to find them. i was looking at the electromaax - but decided my generator would not require me getting a much higher output alternator. so i am sticking with my 80 hitachi.

In the time being you may want to dial back the alternator output. You don't say but I assume (bad) you are using an external Balmar regulator which will allow you to dial back the 100 amp alternator to approx. 80 amp max. Called belt saver adjustment.
