can anyone tell me valve clearances for cold set on yanmar 2qm20?

Set to 0.2mm to 0.25mm max cold using feeler gauge.

The service manual writes 0.15mm for both intake and exhaust valves.

My read of the service manual is 0.15mm.

Your post heading says "QM" and your text says "GM." The valve clearance is different for each. Please make certain which motor you intend to adjust.

Seriously ?....the manual for the 2QM20 says 0.15
I have a 3QM30 and its the same...0.15
If you set them bigger than that the motor is likely to be noisy at best and not run efficiently at worst
Why wouldn't you believe the manual ?

i might believe the manual if i saw the manual. i'm guessing the difference has something to do with cold set. i did read acushla's bio.

I have the manual
P2-16 says 0.15 and it is cold set...

thanks for the manual - solid gold and most appreciated. OK - 0.15mm it is. I've got some injector nozzles i bought last time i was down at westhaven - been putting off fitting them til i had a better idea of the setup - now i've got that too, so thanks again. happy sailing, i miss the hauraki gulf...
