Anyone know about a Jennings diesel engine?

I am looking at a used 30 foot Coronado, sold by heir who knows nothing about sailing. He says it has a Jennings diesel engine, but I find no references to Jennings engines on the net. Could it be a marine version of some standard engine?

Has anyone heard of a Jennings engine? There is a diesel shop in Jennings Louisiana, and it may be their sticker. It could be they put their sticker on an engine they installed. Has anyone dealt with that company?

Also, if anyone has first hand knowledge of the Coronado 30, and its sailing abilities, please let me know, either on this thread or in a personal email.

Thanks for your help.

Re: Anyone know about a Jennings diesel engine?

My guess is you are right, maybe a rebuilder sticker or something like that. Coronados werent great boats but just like a lot of the production boats of the era. The little 25 was a good sailor. Not sure about the 30. My guess is a Coronado 30 is of low value at this point. $5000 or less probably.... unless it's a creme puff.
There were a lot of Coronados around, maybe someone with more specific knowledge of the 30 will chime in.

Coronado 30s were built like a tank and sailed pretty well. If it's the model I'm thinking of they had an additional trim tab at the aft end of the fin keel for fine tuning windward performance. They came originally with a gas Atomic 4 engine so if it has a diesel that runs that's a big plus.
