Anyone got a Tohatsu "EverRun" 2 stroke OB?

I am looking at a fairly new series of 2 stroke outboards called "EverRun" from Tohatsu.
Looking at the 18 hp.

I would value the opinion of anyone who has bought one of that series, preferably the 18 hp.

Thanks,

Mark

They claim more power. But it's an 18 hp engine, just like the "normal" 18.

The difference seems to be a lower compression ratio and chrome plated piston, which should make them more durable. The normal 18 is pretty rugged anyway, so better can't be bad.

Yes, i dont see how there can be more power than the other 18 with the standard grease nipples...

Its a much more simple engine than my mercury 9.9 with gear change in the handle.
Much simpler electrics. Throttle is a steel bar, not cables.

The fuel filter will be hard to remove because it must hit the throttle linkage when its unscrewed...have to unbolt the filter.

Put on an external filter and I bet you will never need to change that inline filter. We ran our old Honda 15hp for 15 years without ever needing to change the inline. The external filter needed changing a couple times each year (we often get questionable gasoline where we have been cruising).
