Adding 2nd alternator to Westerbeke 55B4

Anybody have any experience adding a 2nd alternator to a Westerbeke 55B4?
Sure looks iffy. I have a Balmar 100amp, using a Digital Duo Charge to charge the starting bank when the house bank is full, but it never seems to kick in, even everything is
wired as directed.
If possible, I’d like to go to two alternators like I had on my old 4-107.
