3YM20 sacrificial zincs

Where on the engine are they located? I found nothing in the Yanmar maintenance manual and they are sold, so they must go somewhere in the salt water cooling system.

Re: 3YM20 sacrificial zincs

Welcome aboard CF Amaleo, sorry I can't help you directly but on the Yanmar GM series, there is one zinc in the block sort of underneath the exhaust manifold and another at the back of the head (gearbox side). They are steel plugs with a 24mm hex head. Remove the plugs and the zinc is screwed into the inside of the plug.

The 3YM might be similar.

Hope this helps.

As far as I know 3YM20 doesn't have a zinc anode.

Re: 3YM20 sacrificial zincs

Opps... my earlier post (#2) refers to a raw water cooled GM so probably doesn't apply very much to the OP's 3YM with is freshwater cooled - sorry.
