Excellent outcome and much better than fitting an OB
All men dream: but not equally. Those who dream by night in the dusty recesses of their minds wake in the day to find it was vanity: but the dreamers of the day are dangereous men, for they may act their dreams with open eyes, to make it possible. T.E. Lawrence
Its running! Took a lot of bleeding but it now runs. However it is leaking water from the bottom of the water pump. Feels like a small hole in the bottom center. It is still pushing water out the exhaust while running also. Suggestions? Thanks again for the help n getting running!
That 'water leak' is a sign that the seal is about to go - its designed to do that to let you know when its failing.
You need to rebuild the pump ASAP before it starts getting seawater into the engine.
I am going to the yanmar guy tomorrow to get the seals. No plans to run it anymore until I change the seals and also do an oil change and install the new racor filter. Definitely don't need to do any damage to the engine, hoping it lasts me many years.
