Cat and dog on a 27' Norsea

We are setting out for our shake down cruise in 2 months. We have a very fat Mancoon cat and a German shorthair. Where would a litterbox go and where does the dog do his job?

I had a cat on a Shannon 28, put the litterbox in the "V", made a flat cover with a hole about 2" less than the box lip to help contain random litter from getting thrown out. No personal experience with a dog aboard, but have heard that training them to use a piece of astroturf in the cockpit works.....put a grommet in the astroturf and tow is astern to clean it.

I haven't had the cat on a boat yet but he loves to ride in the truck(last trip was 800 miles on the seat beside me, so I doubt it will be a problem for him.

I have 2 dogs one of which will have to go to a new home when we move onto the boat, he jumps no matter how fast or slow and it doesn't really matter where you are, he doesn't like being on the boat and would rather chance swimming than staying where it is dry.

If you search the forum here there is a story about someone teaching their dog to go on astro turf only to come back to the boat one afternoon and seeing the dog trying to hover over the astro turf that is now hanging over the side. That is my plan for my golden retriever/chow!
