The timing of the injection pump is done with shims. If you saved them and put them back, no additional adjustment should be necessary.

PM me with an email address and I'll send you the service manual.

Just re-read the post....if by calibration you mean making sure each cylinder is getting an equal amount of fuel from the injection pump, I suggest letting a professional diesel pump shop make that adjustment. They'll tear it down, clean, replace needed parts and calibrate with a machine that operates the pump and measures the flow from each port.

I had an injector pump go south on a Perkins and my mechanic sent it in to "the lab" as he called it, for rebuild and calibration, couple hundred bucks if I remember right.

I just talked to a yanmar certified shop and was given an estimate of $700 for service of the yanmar 3gm30f injector pump.

Why do you think it might need recalibrating?

I've got a brand new 3GM pump $500+ shipping. A previous mechanic mis diagnosed and engine fault and fitted a new pump when it was a blown piston.

Any diesel injection shop can work on this pump. Talk to a local diesel shop and find out where they send their injection pumps. I've had the exact pump rebuild for <$300.

No need to PM....

Need diesel engine parts, service, and/or accessories? Southeast Power Systems is your one stop shop.

I dropped it off at the Ft. Myers shop and they had to ship it to their Orlando location as that was where they had the jig to test it. This was a few years ago, I can't remember what, if any, parts they used.

Re: Yanmar 3GM30 Fuel Pump calibration

Dotdun, thanks for the tip. Having it rebuilt there for $230. They said my injectors were in much worse shape, rebuild at $70 each. Looking forward to getting them back next week. After calling several places, one recommend by mack boring. These guy's were very helpful. They receved the parts last friday and I just got a call monday morning at 10am.
Many thanks

Glad it worked out for you. Assuming they perform the same quality they did for me, your engine will run like a new one.

Don't forget to check twice to make sure the governor arm is connected to the pump properly when you re-install (take the plate off the inspection hole). Don't want a run away engine!
