WINNER SOLAR AGM 150Ah - Any Good?

Hi All,

We are cruising the Ionian and it seems the boat we just took delivery is due some new batteries. The above are the cheapest option put to us. Welcome any feedback and experience. The other more expensive options also below, if others think worth the additional $$.

Cheers

1) Battery EXIDE EP1200 AGM 140Ah--- 510,00 / per piece
2) Battery EXIDE EF1350 GEL 120Ah--- 415,00 / per piece
3) Battery WINNER SOLAR AGM 150Ah--- 360 / per piece

How much certainly wouldn't be paying that for them unless they are really special. These are the sort of prices I am more used to paying

Are you connected with Winner Batteries?

Cheers Pete.

I also found other comparable prices online. Issues is that we are stuck for time and these are the 3 option but to us by PYS in Lefkas and installed.

Im not connected with Winner, but if good feedback its certainly the most economical choice and has the least mark up from PYS.

Cheers. Have quietly watched from the sidelines, but now fully fledged owner and sailor making way from Greece back to Australia. This is a great and very helpful forum. Cheers for moderating!

Batteries

Lead acid batteries are long lasting and offer the most bang for the buck...but, they need to vent and are hazardous to maintain(having to maintain fluid levels), and keep flat. AGM's have a shorter life cycle maintained the same as a LA, but there is no fluid maintenance, and they can be mounted sideways, and they don't vent into the cabin.

At those prices LiFePo4 batteries sound like a cheaper alternative.

AGM batteries are Lead Acid.
AGM batteries should not be maintained the same as FLA.

Re: WINNER SOLAR AGM 150Ah - Any Good?

Winner AGM 150 solar cost just under 200 here winner

They are Sold under a German brand, but as far as I know they come from somewhere in Southeast Europe. In German solar energy forums they are not regarded as high quality.

I did a lot of reading on conventional lead acid batteries, in the end I bought Trojan, should be available anywhere as golf cart batteries. 150ah Trojan were something around 250 each.
