Why are certain brands of Cats for sale...

I'm curious why it seems that a certain brand of (non charter) catamaran is frequently for sale regardless of the age of the vessels in question? Since this is my second post here, I am not pointing directly at the brand in question so there is no 'flaming accusations' put forth. The brand in question is USA built and begins with a 'G'. I'm curious if the brand in question experiences excessive wave pounding, structural problems, water leaks, etc. I'm in the market for a catamaran priced from $100k and under. I am going to utilize a surveyor prior to purchase; but that won't tell me if their are 'issues' with a specific brand's sailing abilities or liveability

I've come to the conclusion that the next best boat for me is a catamaran, and so begins my homework.

I am guessing that you often see them for sale because there was a LOT of them produced and sold.

Seems a reasonable assumption, guess I'll ask in another thread regarding the cruising performance of said brand.

Look into SLAPDASH.COM, and you will see it's a pretty sturdy vessel. m&r is probably right that there are so many built, so there will be more resold.........i2f
