Re: Which Catamaran do you Think Looks Best

This seems to be a dying thread, but just want to add my preferences. I am sure there are tons of great custom and one-off designs, but among boats that I could conceivably afford someday on the second-hand market:

The newer Outremers - Particularly the new 45, though I would probably opt for the capacity of the 51 which is still a very cool looking cat

I really like the Nautitech 482 - Sleeker and quicker looking than the new boxier designs from Nautitech (and most other boats commonly found in charter fleets for that matter)

Schionning G-Force Cruise Series - Just fast and fun looking boats

Catana - Not sure about their new 53 and 59, but I do really like the 47/471

I'm not a big fan of the aesthetics of flybridge boats. However, when it finally comes time to buy someday the utility and comfort of a flybridge may be an overriding factor. And I can't deny that a flybridge is a great place to hang out when conditions are calm.

I do like the G-Force, however I can't believe the nobody has mentioned the classic Lagoon 57. Those sexy transoms and raked back cabin...

Re: Which Catamaran do you Think Looks Best

I've been watching people drool over the Gunboat for quite a while now. It would be very low on my list. Evidently the designer knows nothing about sailing or cruising. Look at the hull/deck in the front portion of the boat, they are so rounded you couldnt walk out there safely. This thread is about looks and ...well... that seems to be ALL Gunboat cares about...

Lagoon 440, owners version

I think the vertical glass areas are very practical for keeping hot sun out. I like how the flybridge works for all round visibility. With galley up, wide nav station and forward saloon I do think the bridgedeck area inside works very well. On the other hand I do think theres a lot of seemingly wasted space aft that might have been better sorted for dingy stowage. ymmv

Really the 30-40ft LOA boats interest me more, but that wasnt the question

Yea I also really like the Lagoon looks. Didn't notice too many people mentioning them, maybe three.. And I'm thinking from perspective that 44-50 feet range might be most practical and hopefully some day attainable... No point in dreaming of a 70 foot cat as it would require a lottery jackpot and I don't play lottery..

I really know little about cat's but purely considering the outside looks I do like the Lagoons..
