Where are Gunboats built?

My buddy and I are having a disagreement. I know there is an address on Gunboats website that says they are in Rhode Island. My buddy SWEARS they are built in South Africa though. I can't find proof one way or another. Where do they physically build them?

He says he saw a picture of one being moved from the factory after completion, right through a little African village. Was this really a Gunboat, or another manufacturer?

I'm new here. A little about me: http://www.cruisersforum.com/forums/...rum-21455.html

Chris,

They are built in Cape Town, South Africa. However, I doubt there was a picture of one being moved through "a little African village". Cape Town is a city of over 4 million and a relatively modern city!

Gunboats' factory is at 9 Nourse Avenue, Epping Industria in Cape Town. It's a factory of I'd say 50000-plus sq ft in an light industrial area. To launch their boats they truck them direct to the V&A Waterfront along highways with blacktop.
Do yourselves a favour and Google Earth us in Springbok-land! Our houses have tiled roofs, and we aren't allowed to keep much besides cats and dogs as pets!

Our kids got the same kind of thing here. Their cousins asked if they ride horses to school...

I thought there were rules against the kiddies riding horses on a public right of way in Texas. I was told that kids under 16 were only allowed to put saddles on Great Danes, and children under the age of 8 could only ride Armadillos?

Hey Splash Gordon,
haven't you forgotten the solar panels and solar pool heating we have on our roofs, well at least some of us!
