What weight cloth for my screecher?

I'm in the process of ordering a screecher which will be mounted on the prodder of my Privilege 435. I have a continuous line furler and will have a UV strip on the sail. The sail makers have recommended a .75oz nylon.

As a cruising boat, I'm more concerned with longevity and price before any serious performance considerations. My asymmetrical is .75oz but this seems a little light for a screecher which, knowing my sailing capabilities, is going to occasionally rub on the spreaders and all the other things on the pointy end of my boat. I realize though that this is a light air sail so maybe .75 is appropriate.

Any thoughts?

Re: What weight cloth for my screecher?

Have them build 1.5 in the foot, luff, and leach. .75 in the belly is fine.

My kites are built that way and do fine in 30 true (airx).
