What route is easier on the boat?

What route is easier on the boat and more (sailing-wise) pleasant for the crew?
Delivery window: April to September.

a. Cape Town to Florida
b. Tahiti to Florida
c. Turkey (eastern) to Florida.

I'd opinion Turkey to Florida.. as long as you head out before the end of August..

The answer could be d. transport ship.

I've only done the W North Atlantic/Caribbean portions of these routes.

a. I don't have knowledge of the S Atlantic, but it is winter April to Sept. Once in the Carib and on to Florida, the late summer is no place to be north of 10* due to hurricane season.

b. Tahiti to Florida which way? West to East is all upwind, isn't it?

c. Maybe Turkey to Florida getting there by September and then waiting for after hurricane season (November) to cross to the Carib, then up to Florida, but not until around late March leaving the Carib.

Given the delivery window, Turkey route would be best. Either way, the 3 routes are all long!

Opps... missed the window..
Definitely the Turkey route.. down to Cap Verdes and across to Trini.. then a straight run for the US with lotsa shelter after the first 400 miles.. if you start mid April you could be in the Caribe by June and Florida by July.. still early season.

Oh, I dunno, Phil - I dont think you'd need to drop as far South as Trini! Actually, this Summer, I pretty much went across the middle. I had to stop in Bermuda to wait for a hurricane to pass by, other wise it was a sweet crossing.
