Well We did it...

My lovely wife and I take possession of our new to us 2004 Lagoon 410 S2E. Yup it's an Electric Drive cat! After much reading and looking and more reading we fell in love with a boat that we felt would be perfect for us. Size wise I thought a 38' would have been what we wanted but the Admiral says it's to small, not enough room so we are very pleased with the space and she's happy with the closets so what the heck. The systems are Solomons with upgrades/updates to several components. All in all we are very pleased that "Electra Glide" will be in Solomons, MD.
I did notice an older thread on electric drives and will see if I can get it back alive to discuss the subject.

Good for you...congratulations on the boat.
I'm very interested to see how those electric motors do.
Will you be live-aboard…cruising?

James and Hud,
Thanks guys, we are excited and I'll try and keep everyone updated on Electra Glide's progress. Our first priority is to update the controls of the system, make it more user friendly, more automated. I have a couple people very interested in the system who know a lot about it, Mr. Tether the designer for one and a good friend who's an EE that might be able to come up with a few things outside of the box.
James we're planing on doing most of our cruising in the Chesapeake Bay area for a while then branch out from there.

So we're off to go do inventory and spring cleaning for the weekend!
