Weekend warrior?

Hi All,

I was hoping to get some recommendations on a Cat that would be good for 2 people that would just use it for day trips for fishing and maybe the occasional 2-3 day trip along the West coast of the USA. My price tag is 150000 max and maybe 50-75 for extra things we might think we need! Thank you!

Also I'm looking for the size to be at least 20ft! and have the capacity for 8 people on a day trip out with friends.

Re: Weekend warrior?

We just chartered a 30' Mainecat in the Abacos and it was a great boat for two people. After 10 days it started to feel a little small, but it could work very well for long weekends aboard. It had a good-sized galley, giant cockpit with a table that converted into a double bed, and a full owner's hull. I think there are a few used MC30s for sale in the US at (or under) your price range.

Amy

Re: Weekend warrior?

Look at the PDQ 36, an older boat but a great boat for what you want to do.

You need to go bigger than 20' for 8 people. And you need a West Coast boat.

How about this one..

A Seawind 1000 is another one that you should put on your shopping list as well. The large cockpit would be ideal for when you have 8 people on board as it would swallow them up with plenty of room to spare. They are vey roomy for their size.
