Voyager 43 Catamaran Owner's Version

Anyone here have any experience with the sailing pluses/minuses of this particular catamaran ? One of my concerns would be "wave slap" be it when at anchor/mooring and/or while at sea cruising. Does it do well to windward ? How is it's overall sailing performance ? Is it a fairly easy boat to own and maintain ? And what would be a fair price for one ? And any other thoughts/opinions on said catamaran. Thanks.

Nothing is better than the own experience , some people would say is a great boat and other ones is a awful one. My advice .... rent one for few days and if is one on sale could be a great way to test it at the same time too

That would be a Voyage 43. Weren't these all Norseman's? I chartered a similar Leopard. Never had any wave slap but everything was mild mannered that week. Don't think you'll get any at anchor ever unless you are in the wrong place.

Not sure why you would spend $250,000 to buy one without chartering one of several that are available in the BVI to find out for yourself the answers to your questions.

It is a good design, al cats will have bridge deck slap at some point. vOYAGE CHARTERS in Sopher's Hole in Tortola does charter the 44 now which is where the 43 came from, charting one is a good idea.

can't specifically comment on the 43 but I do own an owners version 44 that I have now sailed for 3 seasons and I absolutely love the boat. Do sail with a screecher and asym as well as folding props.
Boat points well, it is fast and now and then some wave slap but no big thing, It's a catamaran and they all do it.
Never experienced any wave slap at anchor but if I did I would probably move the hell out of there.
Voyage builds a very strong boat that is very easy to care for. Mostly my pleasure comes from actually sailing and satisfied that it is above all a sailboat and not a floating condominium as so many of other boats on the market.
It lacks the wood trim below that others have but I don't need that and it is not even a factor in my opinion.
I have sailed this boat down the Island chain, then to South America and now I am in the western Caribbean. I come from a racing background with years in numerous one designs and ocean racers but my criteria for a performance boat has been quite satisfied with the Voyage 44. I do not need to go any faster in my cruising mode than what the 44 will do. We sailed from St. Lucia to Los Roques in typical trade winds making over 200 miles a day. We took a reef in the main at night with just the jib then flew the Asym during daylight, so we were not trying to break any records.
As far as price goes you are on your own there but you should be able to get a good deal because the last time I looked it was still a buyer's market and I don't think it will be getting better anytime soon.
Finally I would certainly echo the above comments and definitely charter one prior to buying. It will be money well spent and the guys in Sopers Hole are great and will be happy to talk about their product.
