UPDATE ON ISLAND SPIRIT CATAMARANS

It is correct that Fortuna Catamarans is out of business and no longer producing the Island Spirit. The good news is that the molds have been purchased and set up in a new factory in George, South Africa. It is being sold as the Marquee IS 402.( check out Catamaranmarquee.com). Production is already underway. Admiral Yachts has nothing to do with this new operation.

Well, this is confusing. Where do you get your information? From the Admiral Yacht website:

Other News

Some of you might have heard that the manufacturers of the Island Spirit 401 catamaran, Fortuna Catamarans (Pty) Ltd, was recently placed in provisional liquidation by the High Court in Cape Town. Admiral Yachts has obtained the rights to manufacture the Island Spirit world wide and once the various legal issues have been dealt with by the liquidator and the Court, we look forward to including this product in our fleet. The acquisition of this brand will give Admiral Yachts a larger pool of clients and will increase the number of products we have on offer.

Rick, Catamaran marquee.com They won the court case and now own the molds which they have set up in George, South Africa and are currently laying up the first hull. Admiral lost the court case.
