Up date on my repairs,
Well it has taken nearly a year, But it is finally nearing completion stage with removing the repairer I had and replacing him with some one that will repair my Catamaran,
The Process so far,
3 trips to VCAT, One for Paper work and two before the tribunal,
The Tribunal awarded me full repayment of my $10,000-00 Deposit,
Dry Dock Fess for four years, As it was to be repaired in his workshop and he failed to put it there,
Approx $15,000-00
All my legal costs awarded to me,
And the Contract I had with this repairer, Totally Voided,
Which means I can now get some one else to repair my vessel,
The Repairer failed to attend the Tribunal but was contacted by phone by the magistrate there,
He promised in January to the magistrate that he would have my vessel repaired by March, 2016,
Which he failed to do,
Then it went back to the Tribunal in June 2016 where they awarded me the costs, Etc,
Two trips to Ringwood court for Paper work,
Two trips to Frankston court for paper work,
It has to go thru Frankston Magistrates court as it is the local court for the Yaringa Marina Area,
This was to get the paper work for the Sheriff to seize any assets he may have to repay my money to me,
Two trips to the Lilydale office of the Sheriff, second trip was because they only accept Money orders or cheques,
It is now in the hands of the Sheriff to get all the moneys owed to me,
They also have the power of arrest for moneys not paid,
As this repairer is almost bankrupt, It may put him out of business totally,
He has a very bad reputation at the marina for being unethical, Lying, He has no work ethic in any way,
He takes peoples deposits and their boats never come out of his workshop again,
He also has a bigger Cat than mine that has been in his workshop longer than mine has been sitting there waiting to be repaired,
I am not the only customer of his that has been caught out,
Two weeks ago a customer got out of his car with a baseball bat and was looking for him, He had dissapeared very quickly,
I have had two quotes so far for my repairs, Both have stated the repairs done will have to be cut out and redone, As it is quite shonky what has been done,
Both new repairers have stated it will take about four months for me to have my boat back in the water,
I signed the contract with this repairer in April 2012, I have emails stating that my vessel would be fully repaired in November 2012,
And emails promising finish dates an inch high,
It still has holes in the hulls that I can put my fist thru, August 2016,
The hulls that have been covered, the fibreglass is extremely thin and very flexible if you stand on it,
Now hopefully I can get my vessel repaired and move on,
It has been a very stressfull 4 years, Waiting for nothing,

Re: Up date on my repairs,
Hello Mr B,
congratulations on the win and hopefully the beginning of getting your boat back on the water. I just hope this sod can start up again and do the same to new customers. As it is a matter of public record can you name this person.

Yes, It feels that way,
I do have heaps of video's of my crossing, So I look at them occasionally,
I came across one last night, It was filmed in the dark late at night,
It was the one after the Self steering dropped out and I nearly want over sideways, I went beam on and the leeside centre board dug in,
That was quite a hairy moment til I got it sorted out,
Crash course in learning, Hahahahaha
Yes they do bring back memorys, All good of course, Even the learning experiences, Its all there on my video's,
What does stand out tho, Is how flat the ocean looks on the video's, Even when the sea is quite large in the waves,
Even big rollers looked like a millpond on the video's,
Even the very bad chop when crossing the different levels on the ocean floor came out flat and calm,

You're not wrong. I poked my head out of Pittwater one day in the Zodiac and the sea was "huge." Looking back at my photos and videos people wondered what drug I was on... it was a millpond on the screen.

Re: Up date on my repairs,
Three weeks in and the new repairer has done some work on my boat,
He has come to a standstill as the forms he needs to form the new hulls hasnt arrived yet, and its been raining solid for the last couple of weeks also, Its out side his work shop,
He has the Resin and the Matt all ready to go,
He cut the entire floor of one hull out, The other he is going to use as a form first for both hulls,
with the hull being cut out, you can see what the previous repairer had done,
Osmosis and delamination that had been fibreglassed over, you cant see it with the new fibreglass over it,
Some delamination had been there since the original build,
All five repairers that quoted my job, Said the floor and hulls had to be cut out totally and redone,
He says it will be ready to go back in the water in January, So I am happy with that,
I will have every thing done on the hard, including erecting the mast, so when it goes into the water it will be ready to go any where I want to,
This is its new home,
The two boats either side were very close,
The travel lift got bogged on the way out, and it rained solid all day, I got soaked,
A day with a broom and some soap and she will look brand new again,
I need to get the mast down off the boat so I can get new wiring thru the mast as the wind speed indicator dont work, It was hit by lightning in Fiji,
I had a new gauge fitted, But it wasnt that, Its in the wiring some where,

Re: Up date on my repairs,
These are the repairs being done, I am very happy with my new repairer and the work he has completed so far,
He has cut out the repairs from the previous dud and what was covered up and covered over was very unprofessional,
It had delamination covered over and holes covered up, You can only see it when it was cut out,
I made a temporary crane on the back of my F100 truck to get the mast down off the boat,
So now its sitting on trestles and I can work on it,
I broke the Tri Colour light on the mast head, Its been there in the hot sun for 14 years,
It needs replacing, Its old and brittle,
All the wiring in the mast will be replaced as well, Its on the deck, Easy to get at, Replace it,
Hahahahaha, Ebay for a new light, Yep, I found one, Cheapest, $84-00 USD delivered, Approx,
Its a plastic tube with a led globe in it, and coloured plastic, Three wires coming out of it,
Next price up, $140-00 USD. delivered,
Aussie Prices, Start around the $360-00 USD mark,
One seller wanted almost $600-00 USD,
Keep in mind, These prices are for the same light manufactured by the same company,
different sellers want wildly fluctuating prices,
It pays to shop around,
I bought a set of lights for the back of my Coach yesterday, Stop light, Indicators, and parking light in the one, $31-00 AUD, each,
Its not marinised, Hahahaha So its cheaper, Its still waterproof,
The Hulls should be finished by January, All wiring replaced, The mast reinstalled, Hopefully back in the water and ready to sail by March,

Re: Up date on my repairs,
Wow. Large repair. I must have missed the first part about the damage. Did the guy you sued in court drop it on concrete with a crane?
