If you have not seen this boat I think you will be pleased to take a moment and appreciate where multihulls are favored

Wo..thanks for that link. I'd seen static pictures of these ships before but not at sea. Never mind the shock-and-awe inspiring looks of them, the lack of wake, minimal disturbance of the water in these shots is incredible. The mass x velocity must be enormous yet it looks as if it zipped past you while you were anchored you'd hardly feel a thing. I'd like to know more about the aerodynamic design choices they have made, well, and the hydrodynamics, too, come to that.

I wonder what deck slap would feel like on something of that size.

Are they successful at their design purpose? That is, have they caught many actual pirates?

And if they catch them, do they treat them to a slap up meal while they give their vessel a full service.
From the Cat Ferries (35knots) in Southampton Water the wake is three close pitched and quite steep waves, best taken at thirty degrees in my cat, otherwise the wave pitch is the same as the hull spacing giving a violent shake to the standing rigging.
No experience of the wake from the trans channel ferries out of Portsmouth.
