the nimble has an outboard, and a aft cockpit.

there's bunks on either side, and a "table" that lifts up from the port side settee that makes that bunk a double. But, you can't sit at it. This is something I may see if I can modify some how.

I have a good schematic somewhere... one sec and I'll add it to my album...

transom rot cut out by a previous "inspector" before he bought the boat. unfortunately there are some other "repairs" that I will be re-doing as well, but nothing more than grinding off glass, and re-doing.

That's quite a bit of damage. Looks like a lot of glass patch work under the cockpit there as well on the bottom panel, but can't see the pic well.

also surprised to see all the Fir ply on a UK boat. they usually used a brunzeel type ply, but that stuff eventually rots even worse.

there was another person in the queue ahead of me in the purchase. He decided to do some repairs, and glassing the hull in the cockpit(internally) was one of them. I think he was planning to get it floating, then haul it out somewhere to do the rest of the work.

I can't comment on the type of ply, as I can't tell them apart.

I have a set of plans, and they are helpful. I've taken to using a rubber mallet, and spike to look for rot, which seems limited to what I've found so far.

There is always the x factor, so I'm simply hoping to get her floating, build a mast, and sail her in the river until next winter, before any blue water travels.

There are a bunch of mast here in st Augustine. I wouldn't bother building one as the cost of good wood is much higher than scrap aluminum.

Have you checked over the amas well? It seems all tris that have foundered in recent years have been due to failures in the amas.

I've checked them over as much as I can. I crawled in them with a light, and have subjected them to the hammer, and seem ok. But, that's why I'm hoping to sail her on the river for a while before going anywhere risky.

Thanks for the tip on the masts. I'll be up that way for memorial day, and a few extra days too. I'll have a look around. I guess I was being nostalgic trying to put a wooden mast back on the boat... duh...

one question for you guys though... i'm shopping for an outboard for her, and not sure what HP to get. I've had mono hulls with 4hp before, and know some run 9s. Any ideas?

We had a 5 HP on the Nugget that was fine. Got a 7.5 that would make it fly. The Lodestar was powered by a 9.9 when I had it and that worked fine even though it tended to cavitate in choppy water from its side of the hull pod. The previous owner had everything from a 8 to a 15 on it. The next owner installed a 25 HP inboard diesel

I have a Honda 10 in a well and it still cavitates it needed to be a extra long shaft not a long shaft and needs a high thrust Prop.
