Trimaran 'Trinity' Breaks Up off Costa Rica

Hey folks,

I've been watching the forum for news about this wreck, but haven't seen much... here's the link to the CF thread about it:

http://www.cruisersforum.com/forums/...ing-51578.html

Short version: a couple of guys from BC were cruising off Costa Rica when they hit a storm. The trimaran - which, from the single, small photo available appears to be a Brown Searunner - was hit hard by a few waves, and then lost an ama and sank.

Here's some more news links:

Latitude 38 - 'Lectronic Latitude
B.C. men survive three days in dinghy after shipwreck - thestar.com
B.C. buddies found alive after days stranded at sea

Any comments on this? Specifically, does anyone have any more details on the trimaran 'Trinity', ie make and model, build quality, etc?

It was a 40' Searunner, I will post photos over there and ask questions from the Searunner guys.

The thread for the million dollar Chris White cat that flipped, has had 33,000 views and 477 comments.

Sorry Drew, our home built little Trimarans do not make good copy here I guess. Even with the drama of a search and rescue. There is something to be learned from this, but I am still processing it.....
Maybe folks expect home built plywood tris to break up....so it is no shock to read another one has lost an ama........
I did not read the Cat thread all the way through, but I suspect everyone is in shock that a boat as fine as that could flip. So they have to kick it around a few times....
