Tobago 35 Engine Size

Anybody know the biggest size yanmar that can fit in a tobago. I know they come with a 18hp and can do 7knots. I do a lot of coastal day trips and need to motor half the time would like to motor around 9-12 knots or more. Thinking the 3YM30 yanmar.

There's a fair number around with the 30's and I know of one with a 20 and 2 blade prop AND a 30 with a 3 blade, in the one boat! So it definitely can and has been done before. Will be interested to hear if you get that sort of speed out of it though, you might be lucky to crack 10.

You will want to watch the weight in the back too.
Might be an idea to get you current engines tuned up to the max.
FP will have a max hp rating for that hull and so you might want to disscuss it with your insurance company if you want to go over that.
