... another
catamaran?
I'm here in St. Francis Bay, checking out the build of my new 50' cat. When I saw these pics, I had to share them.
So what's going on here? No, the onwer of this
boat isn't using that
power cat as a
tender. St. Francis
Marine started building these "Fun Boats"
for sale around
South Africa, and the owner of St. Francis Resort in
Georgetown,
Exumas wanted one for running guests back and forth to his
dock. How best to get a 2,000 lb powerboat across the Atlantic? Well, they had a 50' cat heading over for a
boat show. So they put it on the swim platform.
Pics of the supports:
I sailed a few hundred miles on
hull #18 of this line of cats, and the
delivery skipper was the same
captain who brought over this
boat with the Fun Boat on the back. Amazing that this thing not only sailed across on its own bottom but made good time with that load. Makes me feel conservative with my 13'
dinghy going on here.
I'm writing about my build process in another thread, but I thought these crazy pics deserved a mention outside of it.
