How about this one? I find lots of them nice looking but only bigger than 45ft and they are all hugely expensive. Smaller cats, for my personal taste, are just proportionally too high on the side and back to be beautiful.

Love the O Yachts, especially the spine concept, but I find the lines a little "busy."

It looks like a recipe for disaster with that roof garden and the seat just at the right height to get decapitated by the boom if not thrown overboard before that...

Quite sure they have standing height (in excess) under that boom. That is a design for a new Oyacht and they make great cats. Probably you have been mislead by the size of the cat that is a big one, even if it is so well designed that kind of looks smaller (60ft boat).
O-YACHTS - Class 6

Maybe this picture will give you a better information regarding that:

Pretty obviously they would size things so that wouldn't happen. There are many cats with elevated helm stations like that. However, its a very custom design and a buyer with any sense would skip that cockpit and put solar panels up there.

That there are many cats with roof gardens doesn't mean they are safe. It means there are many clueless designers or their deaign goal is different from taking them to sea while using the roof garden.

Edit: just look at that chair in the first picture: it is at least a foot above the lifelines and not even armrests to keep you in it. This should be outlawed.

That is not a roof garden, this is a roof garden:

Regarding that chair that is just a drawing. That thing does not heel and I
bet that on the real boat it will be completely safe. Regarding the cats being designed by guys that don't know nothing about sailing that one was designed under the direction of a guy that has just finished a world circumnavigation on a beach cat.

He was also plenty experience sailing huge multihulls, in fact all types of multihulls.

Most are of the production/charter cat type, and those are usually designed by very experienced NAs. Perhaps they are not the best sea boats but they are not sweeping their crew off the boats with every jybe.

Yes I agree. That is the new big Lagoon 77. I don't understand why it is not along the lines of this one:

...the designer is the same. There should have a reason and that has nothing to do with price but with design.

Maybe the target clients of that Lagoon would prefer its lines to the ones of the Tan66 on the video, even if I cannot understand why.

Wonder if you can actually see anything to leeward?

Re: The sexiest Catamaran ever?

The TAG 60s have a leeward waterproof camera each side that displays at the helm station. It picks up some onboard foreground so you can gauge the leeward view angle and scale well enough. However and not unlike keelboats that heel over (and have the view blocked by the sails), once you know your blind spot, you devlop a process to be mindful of any vessel coming "into" your blind spot. Its actually an age old problem for multihulls and while the pop through type helm station or flybridge solves the 360deg view question it creates other issues. Depends whats important to you really. Personally I like to be wide and aft when helming. Its all a compromise.
