Please do and post pix. It's been awhile since we've had any.

Here's the latest photo of the Flying Hawaiian. Plus some other poser boat that pulled into Sausalito today. Bet the new boat doesn't have fancy smancy color changing led strips on the side like FH has.

With a nice egg for ground transportation.

It boggles my mind, the thought of being able to buy something like that. Even on credit. Whoosh.......... over me man.

Lol. If it doesn't have fancy lights then who wants it.

Re: The Flyin Hawaiian is gone!

I ran into this whole fiasco because, well, I want to build my own cat and was looking at others to see how feasible it is to even tackle.

Then came the FH thing and I thought "oh boy..."

Well, if he gets it really going and actually gets it out into "the big blue sea"... and it breaks up, which, unfortunately, is entirely possible...

Do you realize how many new laws will come out of this idiots "Spruce Goose"??? The (presumably) first and only boat he has ever built is 65ft long?

Nobody will be able to build a dingy without congress getting involved more than what they already are... Passing so many regulations and adding so many fees it simply won't be possible.

It just sad that it was allowed to get as far as being IN the water...

I don't wish him any harm or ill will, but he potentially will ruin it for someone else who has the desire to build their own boat, mono or multi...

Nah, there have been idiots before, there will be again. Just look at me. You can do this. Just apply some common sense.

Re: The Flyin Hawaiian is gone!

Hmmmm, 32' self designed cat... any links to your build? I am looking for one large enough to be a live aboard. Right now I'm looking at a Woods design.

PM me if you want... currently in San Antonio.

Nah, it will be OK, read Seaworthy-Seaworthy: Adrift with William Willis in the Golden Age of Rafting: T. R. Pearson: 9780307335951: Amazon.com: Books

He is still floating (FH), lets bash him when he sinks like we usually do.

Glad someone resurrected...I wondered how hot Rod was doing. He's still floating huh? Hey...I'm jealous. I would love it if Mongojo were in shape to make it to Richardson Bay.

Re: The Flyin Hawaiian is gone!

Floating and that's about it. No engines, working sails, steering, etc. I don't think there is any hardware to handle the sails at all. The rudders are suspect as well. It really is just a floating houseboat/barge at this time.
