I would like to make an intelligent contribution. HR said he will shoot anyone trying to attempt harassing him on the boat. We totally missed discussion of the most important thing in boating - GUNS. He clearly has GUNS on board and is willing to take them sailing. We can discuss now the guns on boats, and try to fit HR into a category (sheep, dog or wolf).

I guess everyone needs some thing to occupy their minds and keep those little grey cells active... the quality of the stimulation varies

Yep and since he has run aground, we can add anchors into the discussion - WOW a guns, anchors and idiot seamen thread. What more can you ask for?????

Our books have gotten 5 star reviews on Amazon. Several readers have written "I never thought I would go on a circumnavigation, but when I read these books, I was right there in the cockpit with Vinni and Carsten"

Perhaps the anchors could be sexually frustrated or something? Maybe they could be politically incorrect?

We left out Mermaids as well. And sex with Merfolk, well that means a whole new thread altogether. What about Merfolk rights?

Re: The Flyin Hawaiian is gone!

Just filling in some detail for the record here. . . . A few days ago Michael (Hotrod's son) confirmed that the hulls in fact are sheathed with full cloth and epoxy. No word on what weight or how many layers. He also said that the exterior hull panels are not 3/8" CDX. He just said 1/2" and 5/8".

So my prediction of soggy crumbling plywood within weeks is hereby retracted. It may happen eventually, but full cloth will buy them some time. It could have a nice future as a flat water houseboat.

I personally would not be surprised at all if he successfully sails to Hawaii. In fact, I would bet my $50 on that outcome

I imagine it will be slow going in that his freeboard area may exceed his sail area. I guess if HR has a good set of pilot charts and plans his route properly he could make it. Best to bring lots and lots of canned goods and water.

No, he never said he would shoot anybody. I repeat- He never said that. Further, there has been no indication that there are any guns aboard.

The truth is that the discussion of this matter here is every bit as inaccurate and prone to speculation here as it is over on SA. The holier-than-thou attitude displayed here is fairly annoying however.

But there has not been any indication that he doesn't have any guns! Besides, his choice of anchor is obviously bad. We must stick to what is important. And important is now what is, but what may be, might be, and what people think is. That's what Internet is about.
