Well, i've owned my 900 since July last year and am pleased to announce that she is finally
ready to cruise!
It's not been a major renovation
but simply the fact that once most of the major jobs were completed after purchase
, it was early October so have just been sat in a marina for the winter. However, after getting her lifted to be cleaned today in S Spain
, I'm pleased to report she's ready to go and with the arrival of a friend of mine here in Gibraltar
tomorrow, we'll be heading East into the Med' towards the Baleric Islands from Wednesday.
her, this is the list of upgrades that have been done;
New Raymarine autopilot
(with handheld wireless remote
New fire extinguishers fitted (x4)
2 meter high stainless steel
arch fitted to rear to accomodate,
New Furuno Radar
3 large solar panels

Passerelle fitted (bording plank for stern-to 'med mooring')
Full 220v ac ring main power fitted. (had only 12v electrics before with no shore power
hook-up at all)
Sterling intelligent battery charger
3000w pure sine wave inverter
House batteries added, 4x 185 AH.
2000w Hyundai inverter
Heavy duty 3 way AC power switch fitted to allow easy transfer between mains, inverter and genny power.
Rear single cabin
(port side) converted to storage cabin
to accomodate all power upgrades, extra coolbox, PC and general storage
PC built in with wireless keyboard and mouse, connected to Alpha R36 router and wifi
card with high gain omni-directional reciever, mounted on standing rigging
Also conencted to - Toshiba 32inch LED flatscreen TV that can also be used with,
XBox 360 (also connected to Alfa router) and UK Freesat reciever (for marinas
with sat' hook-up on shore)

action so got the lot for £30!)
New MUCH thicker seat cushions
made for main saloon
. (the standard ones are very thin and can become pretty uncomfortable)
'Doghouse' windows fitted with light coloured sunblinds to stop the saloon
becomming a greenhouse when in port or on the hook.
fitted around the roof in the main saloon along with battery
powered led's in galley
Starboard side 'sea berth' removed and replaced with axtra storage for clothing
Contessa icemaker fitted.
Conventional floating compass
fitted to exterior cockpit
upgraded with NASA AIS
reciver, Navtex and Garmin
in addition to the already fitted Lowrance GPS
and depth sounder
GPS reciver bought for my laptop
to use with Open CPN
and CM93 worldwide charts
fitted. Low power consumption
unit, will make 5 liters p hour using an average of 4 amps.
Plus LOTS of cleaning
PHEW, as I was typing this I was amazed how long the list was ands i'm sure that there are a few odd things i've missed out! Still, she's now properly equiped for 21st century cruising, i'll let you guys know how we get on.
