THANKS C.F. & J.W.

We have been gone for 3 weeks. Spent that last 3 weeks getting to, from, and spending time in the Exumas. I'd like to thank the Forum for it's finding crew list. I found a huge amount of help in J.W. who answered my post for help.

J.W. was looking for an experience on a cat, and I was seeking an extra set of eyes, so I could rest. J.W.got a chance to cook under way, do some sailing, motoring, motorsail, look for parts in Miami, and in general in 2 days got a good look at cruising. We had wind, wrong wind, strongwind & rain that kept us from seeing the next marker in the Miami channel.

We did manage to get from anchor in Miami to dock in Green Cove Springs in 42 hours. My best time yet for this particular undertaking. Although I do prefer leaving on a Northerner, and sailing the whole way south!

Thanks again C.F. & J.W......................John

Great cruising experience

To all those interested in gaining cruising experience, I just had a great trip with John on Imagine. I have dreamed about cruising on a cat for several years now, and decided I had done enough dreaming and that it was time to act. I answered John's request for crew, and the time was right. Bought a one way ticket into Miami, and another one home from Jax 4 days later. I experienced everything from troubleshooting the Yanmars, grocery shopping in a dinghy, cooking underway, sailing through a major squall, full moon-beam reach-11 knots on the gulf stream sailing from midnight to 5am (while John slept), and general boat handling.

So, I also thank CF and John for getting me one step closer to my dream. Just do it!
