Telstar 26 ?

This boat is for sale, priced at 9K.
Anyone know anything bout the first boat Telstar made? Lots of info out there on the 28, but I am finding very little about the 26.

I owned one of the older models

It was trailerable, but not what I'd call a trailor sailor. I modified mine by putting the head in the V-birth as the porti potti and privacy screen in the salon was inadequate for cruising.

I was very frustrated with the almost complete inability to go to windward in seas much over three feet due to under deck slamming. The centerboard also proved problematic in heavy seas.

I sold mine after my first Bahamas cruise in it. I'd have been very happy with it if all my sailing was in seas under three feet, but was not happy with it as an island cruiser. (insurance for Bahamas was also very hard to get)

feel free to message me for more. It may be a week to get back to you in any detail as this is pecked out on a cell phone in the BVIs.

P.S. I thought my Westerly Centaur was a much more capable 26-foot pocket cruiser. Many of those can be had for less than you mentioned.

Thanks guys.
There is a 26 Telstar and a 22 foot Cross for sale within a couple of hundred miles.
What I read pretty much condemned it as too hard to set up and tear back down to be considered much of a portable trailer type boat. There are several 26 to 29 foot traditional hulls for sale locally cheaper than either the Cross or the Telstar.
Most information mentions the 26 and then starts to discuss the 28 on the Telstar sites.
I did not see it in my look through today, so it may have sold.

I own a telstar 26. I have one of the last runs made in england before Tony smith came here. Which model is it? they made a MKII and a reg. 26. Is the main hull narrow at the bow is is it bumped out?

1981, which puts it after he came to the states I guess.
It is pretty much a normal looking hull until it reaches the struts.
Check the KC Craigslist about halfway down the page to see the pictures.
I tried to link just a picture, but that did not work.
Mods, I am not trying to sell or promote anything. Just discussing a boat in the next state over!
