Sunreef Catamarans, do they sail any good?

Hi, I'm looking at buying a 60ft Sunreef, the problem is I can not find any information or even you tube that will show me what they sail like. I'm not looking to break any transatlantic records but I certainly don't want to be at the back of the fleet when we sail across in the ARC.
Every broker tells you how their range is the best and the rest are crap, It like dealing with car salesman.

its beautiful boat with every mod con so I know it wont be fast but at 60ft it would want to have some go.
Has anybody seen or been on one whilst sailing in above 10 kn?

There's a few in charter in the BVI. You could find their websites and contact the skipper. Chances are he/she won't be the owner so you should get an unbiased view.

Hi i had a talk with an owner of a 58 he said it is a very slow but can sail up to 10 knots but normal crusing speed is 6-8 knots they are highly under rig and need Wind .. if i was you i would look at the lagoon or Privilige insted both Price wice and also when it comes to design ..

Its claimed displacement is 32 tonne. As our American friends say - do the math, it will sail poorly, but it is very pretty.

One more thought.

With the current euro to dollar exchange rate, you can buy an awesome 62-65ft used Oyster for the same money as a new Sunreef. Then you'll arrive at your destination first, in comfort and be able to travel anywhere on the globe in safety. I know it's not the same... The Sunreef offers much more acreage. Just an idea.

no wonder if such thinking will get whites erased in 100 years.

you should think along the lines: Where I am going to put my 3 wives and their numerous products I make during sail, when they pop out , DUH! SUNREF is the way!

The sun reef 62 model has a displacement of 22t not 32t and do sail very well and have surprised me in big swells and are good for 12 to 15knts if any one is in the med around Port Griumand France will see a good example of one there on charter

when i am more ambitious and ready to buy bigger one, will have to be pretty good one to switch from lagoon. although i distinctively hate bath on 62. Would make me feel like little old dirty man with O legs, that cant swim.

But based on what your saying and would like to do sailing ie ARC I would not hesitate in buying a Outremer59 5x I think they are a damm good fast comfortable cat

Or an outremer 5x and be quicker and have comfort. Or one of many custom builds like a good Schionning G force 15-16 metre.

I may have looked at the wrong model. Even 22 tonne is twice the displacement of an O5X
