Sud Composites 42' Cat in Panama

Hello,

Does anyone know this vessel, or anything relating to it's build quality/user friendliness?

I'm considering throwing out an offer, any ideas what she may be worth these days?

Any information would be greatly appreciated.

Meck

From a very quick look on the web site, I do not like the right angle join of the hulls to the bottom of the bridge deck. This will allow slamming under the hull to really attack this join, which is a known weakness point in this style of hull deck joint.

What Talbot said, and I'd also want to know more about "light" construction with Wood-Epoxy hull & deck.

It appears to be glass over plywood, with possibly limited use of the W.E.S.T. system on tighter curves on the bottom of the hulls. Even the aft hulls appear to be flat. If the bottom paint is anywhere close to the actual waterline, they may not slap at night, but....

I wouldn't buy a boat half that size without a survey, and I'ld have to pay a surveyor to fly in. $$

Well - It would be interesting to ask Phil Berman about this one. His company, Multihull Co, sponsors this forum and he is the US agent for Switch Multihulls.

It would also be nice to know who the Naval Architect/Designer of this cat is. Sud Composites as far as I know is a fairly well respected French multi hull constructor. Tony
